Two Women Blocked A Walmart Worker’s Cart, So I Took Their Shopping Cart And Walked Away

We all know that patience is a virtue, but let’s be honest, everyone has a breaking point. We’ve all been in a situation where we’ve witnessed someone being needlessly rude and wished we could do something about it. Most of the time, we bite our tongues and walk away, but sometimes, just sometimes, the universe puts the right person in the right place to deliver a little dose of instant karma.

Recently, one man took to the internet to share a story about how he handled two entitled women who pushed him a step too far, and it’s a tale that proves some lessons are best served cold—preferably from the dairy aisle.

The Offense

The story begins, as so many do, in the aisles of a Walmart. A man in his 50s was doing his shopping when he noticed a young female employee trying to do her job. She was politely trying to get through a set of restocking doors with her supply cart, but her path was blocked by two women deep in conversation. The employee nicely said, “excuse me ladies,” but was met with what the man described as the “distain of royalty being interrupted by a filthy peasant.”

Undeterred, the young worker tried again, explaining she needed to get through. The women simply blew her off with “pursed lips and a dirty look.” For the man watching this unfold, it was the last straw. He admitted he has a “particular sensitivity to people mistreating workers,” and these two had officially crossed a line. It was clear they had no intention of moving, leaving the poor employee stuck and unable to do her work.

The Sweet Revenge

Seeing the blatant disrespect, our hero decided to take matters into his own hands. In a moment of brilliant impulse, he walked past the two women, snagged one of their full shopping carts, and simply took off with it. He wrote that it took them a moment to realize what had happened before they gave chase. He led them on a merry jaunt down the back aisle and around a corner toward the front of the store.

One of the women managed to catch up and tried to wrestle the cart away from him, but he held on until he reached the front entrance before letting go and making a clean getaway. But he wasn’t finished. He went back to the scene of the crime, where the second woman’s cart was still sitting unattended. He grabbed that one, too, and wheeled it all the way to the camping section, leaving it there for them to find.

He did confess to feeling a little guilty that another worker would have to restock the abandoned items. As a small bonus, though, he helped himself to the milk and eggs from the cart, since he needed them anyway. A year later, a chance encounter with the original employee confirmed his actions had become “store folklore” and that she considered him not a j.rk, but a “Legend.”

The Internet Reacts

When the man shared his story online, the public response was overwhelmingly positive, with thousands of people cheering on his brand of vigilante justice. The reactions generally fell into three distinct camps.

First, there was the “Standing Ovation” Crowd, largely made up of current and former retail workers. They celebrated his actions as a win for service employees everywhere. One commenter summed it up perfectly: “I worked in retail for years. There are few things I can say with more certainty than retail workers absolutely wanting to witness some customers getting their comeuppance.” Another added that they would “happily reshelve a whole buncha stuff if people are gonna step up and do that.”

Next was the “Taking Notes” Crowd, who shared similar stories and philosophies. One person recounted a time they stepped in at a video game store when a woman was berating a cashier. After he told her off, she demanded the cashier do something about him, to which the employee simply replied, “he’s another customer, I don’t have any authority over him.” The rude woman huffed and left.

Finally, there was the “Justified” Crowd, who argued that sometimes, you have to fight fire with fire. As one popular comment put it, “Sometimes an A..hole is what the situation needs!” Another person wisely noted, “Sometimes to beat an a.., you need to be an a…” They argued that in situations like these, taking the high road simply allows bad behavior to continue unchecked.

The Etiquette Verdict

We’ve all heard the old saying, “two wrongs don’t make a right,” and in a perfect world, that’s true. Grabbing someone’s shopping cart and running away with it isn’t exactly a move you’d find in an etiquette handbook. However, we don’t live in a perfect world. We live in a world where a young person just trying to do her job can be treated with utter contempt for no reason at all.

In this case, the punishment fit the crime beautifully. It was harmless, disruptive, and taught these women a valuable lesson about considering others. The fact that the employee herself later called him a “legend” is all the proof we need. He wasn’t a villain; he was a hero, just for a day, in the aisles of a Walmart.

What do you think of this man’s actions? Was his grocery cart getaway a perfectly executed lesson in manners, or did he take his brand of justice a step too far?
